Chemical Agents Used

In conducting training with toxic chemical agents, we work with:

 

  • Sarin (GB)
  • VX
  • Lewisite
  • Sulfur Mustard (HD)
  • Soman (GD)

Biological Materials Used

In training, we work in a BSL-4 laboratory with biological agents including:

  • Bacillus species
  • Yersinia species
  • Francisella species
  • Ricin

In the field, we work with biological agent simulants such as Bacillus thuringensis that are safe to work with and safe for the environment.
 
Radiation Sources Used

In conducting radiological training, we work with:

  • Americium-241
  • Caesium-137
  • Cobalt-60
  • Uranium-235

Improvised Explosive Devices

In conducting training with improvised explosive and improvised dispersal devices, we work with a range of improvised devices that may contain small explosive charges.

These can be used to demonstrate the dispersion effects of agent simulants and in a range of scenario based exercises.

The CBRNe Live Agent Training Certification is in line with the OPCW Standard for The Proficiency of Toxic Entries. Regulations and Standards: OPCW Standard for The Proficiency of Toxic Entries

Hotzone Solutions group.

Prerequisites:

First Responder at the Awareness/Operational Level, Private Sector Specialist Employee or equivalent

Target Audience: All first and specialist responders to CBRN incidents, including law enforcement officers, fire fighters, hazmat technicians and specialists, emergency medical personnel and security officers
Background:

The Training for Toxic Entry course is designed for all local, state and federal emergency and security personnel that will respond to possible CBRNE incidents.

 

It is designed to ensure that all potential responders have a common level of knowledge to work safely and effectively in a toxic environment.

 

Live agent courses can be tailored to meet specific customer needs and can be conducted with the use of chemical or biological agents, radiolgical materials and explosive devices.

Course Overview Description

 

trainCBRNeThe course is designed to provide students with knowledge, skills and abilities to work confidently in protective clothing in a toxic environment containing chemical agents, toxic industrial chemicals, biological agents and radiological or nuclear materials.

Through the training, students will gain practical experience in the use of personal protective equipment, will understand and be able to apply safe work practices and will have an appreciation of the equipment and methods for detection and decontamination.
